The Modoc Community Solar Project is being built on 6 acres of grazing land owned by a member of the Modoc Point Irrigation District.  Cows will continue to graze around the solar project.

The Modoc Community Solar Project is a 1.1 MW solar system to be built at Modoc Point in Chiloquin, Oregon.  When it is completed, the project will generate enough power for up to 200 households.  Following our successful Solarize Rogue ownership model, local residents are invited to purchase solar modules that will generate enough clean energy to offset up to 85% of their home or business electricity needs.  As will all our projects, at least 10 percent of the power produced by this project will go to low-income Pacific Power customers at a 40% discount.

Developed in partnership with the Oregon Clean Power Cooperative (OCPC), this project will soon be open to enrollment for all residents of Klamath County, including homeowners, renters, rural landowners, tribal members businesses and local organizations.

Clean.  Local.  Easy.

Local:  The Modoc Community Solar project is intended for members of the local community.  Any resident, business or tribal entity can participate as long as they are customers of Pacific Power.  Once local enrollment is complete, the project may be opened to others residing within the Pacific Power service area.

Easy:  Purchasing solar panels through our project is an easy way to go solar without putting solar on your roof.

Lower Cost:  Your purchase will qualify you for the 30% Federal tax credit and enables you to greatly reduce your electric bill.  Pacific Power will pay you for the energy produced, which will show up as bill credits on your monthly bill.  The amount Pacific Power pays for your solar energy will increase by 2% each year.

Community Minded:  Your investment also helps low-income families access clean energy at a reduced rate.

Enrollment into this exciting new Solarize Rogue / Oregon Clean Power Coop project will begin soon.  If you are interested and want to learn more, please contact us to discuss your options in more detail.  If you are ready, you can get your name on our waiting list.  We will contact you to discuss specific needs and to confirm your participation once the project opens up for enrollment.
